Vital Community Conditions

Vital Conditions Support Community Transformation

The Seven Vital Conditions for Well-Being is a practical framework for conceptualizing holistic well-being and the community conditions that give rise to it. The framework also makes it easy to identify levers for community change and improvement. It brings together major determinants of health, revealing how parts of a multi-faceted whole work as a system to produce population well-being. This framework helps users consider the properties of places and institutions that all people need all the time to be healthy and well. Explore the Vital Conditions below.

“At Arts Connection – The Arts Council of San Bernardino County, we’re adopting the vital conditions framework to ensure our programs enhance community well-being, drive positive change, and foster a thriving environment for all. We recognize that arts and culture are multi-solvers, essential in creating a holistic space where creativity and community can flourish together.”

“Not only does the Vital Conditions Framework clearly outline the “non-negotiables for well-being” in our community, it also embeds the prioritization of “multi-solvers” in our work to catalyze progress across our region’s needs.”
